Our team shares a concern over the environment impacts of mountain tourism - and weGangtok endeavor in promoting quality responsible tourism. Our concern for the environment stems from the fact that we live here among the mountains and our livelihood depends on the balance of the delicate ecosystem which the Himalayan hosts. We use only LPG gas and kerosene burning stoves for cooking. Our meals are designed to favor local foods thereby considerably minimizing packaging wastes and fuel consumption. All non-biodegradable garbage is carried out and disposed off in a responsible & environmental friendly manner. Also, the welfare of our porters & staff is also given due concern. We have set strict and comprehensive guidelines for ourselves regarding Eco-tourism practices in our operations. Adarsh Tours and Travels, is privately owned and registered with the Government of Sikkim and recognized by the Sikkim Tourism we are member of Travel Agents Association of Sikkim (TAAS).

Successful Swiss ExpeditionSuccessful Swiss Expedition |
 Yuksom: A Swiss Expedition team has Successfully climbed Mt Thinchinkhang at 6,010 mtrs (highest mountain peak in Sikkim) in West Sikkim on October 21. The expedition team including Mr. Robert Allenbach (57 years), Mrs. Sussana Cornelia Allenbach (54 years), Mr. Robertus Laan (40 yeas) and Mr. Paul PE Van Rivere (54 years) started their first expedition in Sikkim by climbing Mt. Thinchinkhang on October 15 from Yuksum. After four days long trekking they reached their base camp at Lamunay on October 19 and then after six hours they successfully climbed to the summit at around 7 in the morning of October 21 and concluded their expedition at Yuksum on October 24.
The Expedition was organized by Adarsh Tours and Travels, Gangtok. Mr. Gopal Chettri (MD). The team was accompanied by nine other members which includes guide, cooks and the Sherpas and 13 Yaks. Mr. Robert is working as a technical engineer in Switzerland. He has earlier climbed several other peaks including Mt. Everest in the year 1978 at the young age of twenty eight. Mrs. Sussana (Robert's wife) is a medical assistant by profession. The couple have been mountaineering since 40 years back as a hobby and scaled several peaks in their country and others.
 Mr. Robertus, a Dutch national based in Switzerland and a marketing executive and Mr. Paul a public prosecutor in Holland. All the four expeditioners are amateur mountaineers. With the climbing of the mountain Mrs. Sussana has become the first lady to scale Mt. Thinchinkhang in the official record and the expedition team is the third one to scale the mountain. German team and US team are the previous ones to complete the mountaineering at Mt Thinchinkhang.
